Pre-Treatment

MULTI-MEDIA FILTERS - - - - - - top
Multi-media filters are used for the reduction of suspended matter and for turbidity control. The units remove particulates from raw water using the filtering properties of the chosen media. The units require regular backwashing to maintain their efficiency.

IRON & MANGANESE - - - - - - top
Dissolved Iron from borehole waters causes fouling of pipe work and discolouration of surfaces and product. The Advanced Water Treatment range of Iron and Manganese Removal Units remove these dissolved contaminates from the water providing Iron and Manganese free water for use by our customers. The Advanced Water Treatment units use a high quality media to remove the dissolved Iron and Manganese from the water. Like multi-media filters these units require regular backwashing to maintain their efficiency and our units can automatically regenerate themselves before returning to service.

PH CORRECTION FILTERS - - - - - - top
pH correction filters, are used to bring excessively acid/alkaline water within a specified pH range. Water that is either too acid/alkaline can cause corrosion of pipe work and equipment and can cause the build up of dangerous gasses.

Options available:

  • Duty/standby units
  • Pre-treatment chemical dosing systems
  • Raw water feed pump and tank sets
  • Filtered water storage tanks

We service most makes and models of filters available within the UK.

Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Filters

CARBON FILTERS - - - - - - top
Activated carbon filters are widely used in the food and beverage industry for the removal of taste and odour. Activated carbon filters also remove organic substances like pesticides and colour. They can easily be backwashed by passing a high flow of water in the opposite direction to service through the carbon bed.

Our standard range of Carbon filters are suitable for flow rates from 0.25 to 30 cubic metres per hour. Larger systems on request.

Our systems include as standard:

  • Micro-processor control for effective and efficient performance
  • Automatic backwashing

Options available on our standard units:

  • Duty/Standby Systems
  • Skid mounting for ease of installation
  • Raw water feed pump and tank sets
  • Filtered water storage tank

Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

CARTRIDGE FILTERS - - - - - - top
Cartridge Filters are used in a wide range applications for the reduction of suspended mater in water. Cartridge filters are sized on the flowrate that has to pass through them. They are manufactured in a range if sizes and materials, from small plastic housings to large multi-element stainless steel housings.

A wide range of plastic and stainless housings are stocked by ADVANCED WATER TREATMENT. These include 20” stainless steel housings (sanitary design) & 10” and 20” plastic housings. In addition, we also stock a wide range of cartridge filter elements. These range from 10” carbon briquette filters to 40” 0.45 micron 'sanitary' filter elements.

Our standard filter range includes:

  • Stainless steel sanitary filter housings
  • Stainless steel industrial filter housings
  • Plastic housings (10" & 20" standard & 'Big Blue' types)
  • Absolute and nominal rated cartridge filter elements
  • Options available:

  • Differential pressure gauge
  • Differential pressure switch

    POLISHERS - - - - - - top
We also supply water polishers to further improve the quality of the water.

    Cyclones - - - - - - top

    How they Work
Advanced Water Treatment stock a range of Cyclone separators; these are driven by the inlet pressure, the water or liquid with particles enters the top chamber at a tangent causing a rotation, and accelerates through the tangential slots/holes in the top section of the separator, down into the centre section of the separator, causing rapid rotation within the centre sector.

The rotation of the liquid forms a vortex in the centre of the separator. The centrifugal action forces the separation of heavy particles from the water. The separated particles accumulate in the bottom collection chamber where they are periodically purged. The cleaned water flows through the central vortex from the top of the cyclone.

    Advantages
One of the main advantages of our Cyclone Separators is that they have no moving parts or filter elements, screens, bags or media. Therefore, they have many advantages compared to conventional filtration methods.

    Cost Savings

  • Large savings in filter elements and media cartridge replacement.
  • No cleaning costs.
  • No down time. You do not need to stop the production or process to change filter elements.
  • Low water or liquid loss by purging of COBRA Separators compared with major losses by backwashing of automatic strainers or sand media filters.
  • Low consistent pressure loss. Pressure drop remains constant despite variations in dirt loading of the liquid

    Deionisation

    CYLINDERS - - - - - - top
Deionisation cylinders are used to provide small volumes of high quality de-ionised water. Being non-regenerable, these units are exchanged when exhausted. Used in batch production, battery plants, metal finishing and polishing application

Mixed Bed or Nuclear Grade resins are used to provide a water quality of better than 1 or 10 mega Ohm/cm. Cylinders come in a range of sizes providing flow rates of between 0.15 and 3.0 cubic metres per hour.

    Options available:

  • Calibrated conductivity monitors
  • Pre-treatment cylinders
  • Raw water feed pump and tank sets
  • High purity water storage tanks
  • We service and regenerate any make and model of cylinders available within the UK.

Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

    TWIN BED DEIONISERS - - - - - - top
Twin bed deionisers are used in industry to provide high quality de-ionised water. These units are used in car production, the food and beverage industry, and in metal finishing for the use of rinse and wash waters for components. These units automatically regenerate using acid and caustic.

We offer both co-current and counter current regenerating systems, with flow rates from 1.0 to 25 cubic metres per hour. A range of units are available to provide water qualities of between 1 and 25 micro-siemens.

    Our systems include as standard:

  • Micro-processor control for effective and efficient performance
  • Non-corrosive wetted parts
  • Calibrated conductivity measurement
  • Skid mounting for ease of installation
  • Options available on our standard automatic DI units:

  • Regenerant(acid & caustic) holding tanks
  • Effluent mixing & neutralising equipment
  • Raw water feed pump and tank sets
  • High purity water storage tank
  • Pre-treatment filters: e.g. sand/anthracite, iron removal
  • Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

    Reverse Osmosis - - - - - - top

There is a wide range of salts dissolved in water that can be removed through reverse osmosis. This is a natural process involving fluid flow across a semi-permiable membrane barrier. It is the process by which nutrients feed the cells in our bodies and how water gets to the leaves at the top of trees. Advanced Water Treatment’s range of reverse osmosis plants typically remove up to 98% of dissolved in-organics and over 99% of totally dissolved organics, colloids and particles. Our high quality materials and professional build quality ensure a high quality of treated water is achieved and maintained.

Reverse osmosis units are used in a wide range of industries from boiler feed water generation to renal dialysis. Today's RO membranes operate at lower pressures with increased ionic rejection rates, providing a cost effective and environmentally friendly method of producing purified water.

Our standard range of RO units are suitable for flow rates from 0.5 to 30 cubic metres per hour. Larger systems on request.

    Our systems include as standard:

  • Micro-processor control for effective and efficient performance

    Softeners - - - - - - top

Dissolved Calcium and Magnesium in water, cause scaling in pipe work and boilers. The Advanced Water Treatment range of water softener utilise high quality components to provide a continuous supply of softened water. This process uses base exchange resin to replace the hardness with sodium ions. We provide both simplex and duplex softeners along with brine tanks for commercial, industrial or domestic use.
