Legionella Control Services
Legionella are commonly occurring bacteria, found in water systems which cause Legionnaires’ disease, a potentially fatal form of pneumonia which can affect anybody. People catch Legionnaires’ disease by inhaling small droplets of water suspended in the air, which contain the bacteria. Legionella risk assessments are mandatory for employers with more than 5 employees, even where the system is simply one mains supplied cold tap. COSHH regulations require the risk of operating a water system to be assessed.
Our services vary from client to client, we tailor bespoke solutions to your specific needs. These can include:
Comprehensive Legionella Risk Assessments
A poor Legionella risk assessment can be worse than no risk assessment, leaving you vulnerable to prosecution. Therefore our risk assessments are thorough and bespoke to your business to ensure that all areas specific to your site are covered. We regularly review our risk assessments to ensure that you are fully compliant with best practice guidelines as recommended in the ACoP L8 from the HSE. Remember, a legionella risk assessment is mandatory for employers with more than 5 employees, even if the system is simply one mains cold tap!
On-going Maintenance
The purpose of a risk assessment is to highlight areas of risk. You then have to minimise and manage those risks and that’s where our monitoring, water testing and sample analysis services come in.
We will work with you and use the findings from your legionella risk assessment to create a plan to help you minimise your risks of exposure to legionella and other potentially harmful bacteria.
