Iron Removal Filters

Burgess iron removal media has a catalytic action on dissolved iron. This media (which is supported on an underbed of  graded gravel) initiates the oxidation of ferrous iron to ferric and this insoluble form is then filtered out within the media. ( note that certain conditions must be met for the catalyst to act effectively-in particular pH >6.5 and oxygen equivalent to 15% of iron content).
